I guess you have a version of Windows installed on your computer. If so, the
best way to erase everything is to use your Windows install CD (sometimes you
only have a "rescue CD" but it will do the same). Insert it in your CD
drive then reboot your computer. The computer should boot with the setup program
on the CD (if not you have to change boot settings in the BIOS...)
There, choose "install Windows" or whatever means reinstalling it. At
some point, you'll have to choose on which hard drive you want to install
windows. There should be an option called "manage" or "erase
partitions". You have to erase your existing hard drive partition then
re-create it. Then when the installation goes on, your hard drive will be
automatically formatted (everything erased).
I am French so I perfectly master my native language, but I understand why
French can be difficult for foreigners. I think it's very similar to Spanish in
many ways (complex grammar with "varying verbs" and a similar
vocabulary...) I've learned English for almost 7 years and IMO it's quite
simple. I know a few words and expressions in Japanese (thanks to anime !) but I
don't know how to write them at all (f***ing katakana, hiragana and kanji).
Japanese grammar seems quite simple, but the problem is that almost no word look
like its French or English counterpart and that the symbols used to write it are
specific to that language...
I think you must browse the category in whrich you want to upload your wall (by
clicking "browse" and then by choosing an anime) and then on the left
there's a "submit" menu... I hope this can help !
- Userpages work a lot better in IE AND Firefox without that iframe thingy (it
can be disabled in the userpage customization page) : have a look at my
userpage. Why not removing it completely ?
- When I click on "XHTML Compliance" to the left, I have a LOT of
errors. Does that mean the website is filled with bugs ?
You must have a lot of work now :p. Good luck !
Oh yea I remember :
This is not a bug but this is causing me trouble. The different frames now don't
have a constant width or position (compared to the background) so byebye
userpage backgrounds adapted to frames (transparency etc...) :'(
- There's a problem in userpage displaying : when I move the mouse in a certain
area of the screen, (between the userpage content and the left menu with title,
status etc) the frame containing the "userpage content" is flickering
(moving left and right). I use Firefox.
- With Internet Explorer, the userpage content doesn't show at all. I'm prompted
to download a "customhtml.php" file containing what should be in the
frame !
This Minitokyo version is still too buggy. It looks good otherwise. I think you
should put the old version again for some time (i hope you did some safety
saves) while these bugs are corrected.
Smileys are back ?
Editing seems to work now
merged: 10-27-2005 ~ 12:32am
- OMG ! I tried to edit my post. It worked at first (I saw my edited post) but
my post reverted back as before when I edited it once again. Now there's no edit
button...
- Smileys appear (sometimes !) at the left of the edit post form but they don't
appear in threads.
- User avatars dont appear in guestbooks (
- I saw another bug but I forgot what it was so I'll post again when I
remember...
One more bug :
- When I click on "view all guestbook posts" on a group's userpage, I
get a "There was an error with the database. Please try again later."
message and nothing else...
- My previous post reappeared ant it merged with my other post ! This is not a
bug, it's great ! (to avoid spamming; double post)
- In some threads (not all o_O), there are Edit and Delete buttons on every post
but if I click on someone else's edit or delete button, I get a PHP error
message.
- Smileys seem to be missing...
merged: 10-26-2005 ~ 11:53pm
Whats that ? I sent a post and it didn't appear.
And now in this thread only the last post (the one from volrath77) has edit and
delete buttons
- There are only two threads that show in the "bug reports" forum
while it's written that there are 66 pages of threads. When I click on another
page number than "1", I have a "No threads to display"
message.
- In the "My Anime" (My Watchlist) page, I cannot delete nor edit
anything in the list. I can only add new things...
I think I'll find a lot more bugs later... Let's hunt these damn bugs !
I like some of Evanescence's songs (in particular "Bring me to life"
and "Anything for you") but now I prefer Nightwish. Have a look at my
userpage if you want to hear a tune from this band (actually the one on my page
has no voice, only music, but I love Nightwish for the singer's voice
Check their last album : "Once")
If you're wirelessly connected to your college's network, I think you can't use
port forwarding since you don't have access to the network configuration (only
the network administrator can modify it : you could try to ask him if he can do
something but I'm not quite sure he'll agree...). You could enable port
forwarding if you had a personal modem/router connected to Internet like I do.
(I have an Inventel wireless modem/router)
You don't need to upload a "Personal Photo" because even if you upload
one, other people can't even see it. You can upload an avatar (you already did
it) and a signature image (GIF with a max size of 486x60) but for that you must
go to "Browsing and Appearance" and not "Personal
Settings".
I hope this can help !
My mp3 collection is very varied : there is rock/metal (I like Nightwish, System
of a Down and some of Evanescence because I like sweet voices ),
movies (mainly "lord of the rings") ost as well as music from anime
(.Hack mainly) and some rearranged video games music (by CarboHydroM and
others)
I have 512 MB on my MP3 player but theyre not totally used because I put all
songs I liked on it : the others I have on my computer are crap
Er the problem is that Photoshop costs something like 600$. So you can't
download it (I mean, legally) since it's not free. If you can't afford it, try
using the gimp. It's a free open source graphics editing program. It may be
quite hard to use at first (and less powerful than photoshop) but there are many
tutorials on the net and an integrated help. Even if it's not the best, you can
do great things with the GIMP : I did my userpage, my sig, my avatar and my
walls with it.
You can download it here (you must
install the GTK then the GIMP and you can also download the help file)
You can find tutorials here.
You can ask me if you need help with the GIMP.
When I'm at my computer, I always have my big, hi-fi headphones on. I use them
to listen to music, to play games... all the time ! My parents always complain
about noise when I use the standard speakers, and sound quality (particularly
stereo effects) is slightly better with the headphones. The only problem is that
when I'm listening to something I don't hear anything, particularly when someone
wants to tell me something.
I also have earpieces for my MP3 walkman.
You must know how to create animated gifs. You cannot directly use an avi file.
Most graphics editing programs can create animated gifs. Just look for tutorials
on the web. Maybe you can find animated gifs somewhere else if you don't know
how to do that.
Recently I watched a lot of AMVs : there was an AMV comtest during the biggest French exhibition about Japanese culture (called "Japan Expo") and the winners are awesome ! Actually, the musics in this year's AMVs didn't really leave a mark on me but some of those of the previous years' surely didl :
) -
Protege-moi (Protect me) (Full Metal Alchemist : http://rapidshare.de/files/21841179/Tyler_-_Tsumibito_no_kashou__Fullmetal_Achemist_.avi.html
)
Masterplan - The spirit never dies (Shounen Bushidou - Misc animes : http://www.amvlaigleroyal.com/%5Bistiv-119%5DShounen_Bushidou_Spirit_Never_Dies.avi )
Placebo (a french group
Within Temptation - Jillian (I'd Give my Heart) (Chrno Crusade - The Last Chapter : http://sunserver.serecom.iut-tlse3.fr/~ogeron/p0d_-_The_Last_Chapter.avi )
This year's contest winners : http://www.fantasy-movies.net/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1695
And there are so many other AMVs I won't ever forget...

Oops sorry i don't have great ideas for funny things but I like the movie Lost in Translation which your avatar is taken from.
